Duties & Responsibilities


To undertake daily T&L data administration electronic entry of time into the Time & Labour module to ensure accurate and timely entry of Eng & Wales employee hours to ensure correct salary payments are processed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with selected Peoplesoft HCM modules - Time and Labour, Global payroll, Absence Management and HR
  • Has clear and concise understanding of HR forms associated with Time and Labour entry to ensure correct rates of pay and time reporting codes are selected for processing salary payments accurately
  • Prioritises and plans work activities, uses time effectively for completion of all data entry and payroll timeframes/deadlines
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure.  Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments
  • When necessary may be required to work at weekends to complete tasks and take optional days off during standard week (Monday to Friday)
  • Follow instructions, responds to management direction. Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
  • Notifies appropriate person when problems/issues arise which may affect timely completion and delivery of payroll


  • Assist with any other duties as and when required
  • Undertake specific projects as instructed by management


  • Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment


  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Systems
  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems of the Company
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment



Education and/or Experience:

  • Good standard of education and experience of accurate entry of payroll data is essential
  • Good knowledge of business concepts, practices and procedures preferable
  • Committed to customer service with ability to meet deadlines is essential
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Self motivated, hands on, multi task worker able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or employees
  • Must maintain confidentiality of employees related date

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have complete knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PeopleSoft 9.X
