Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure currently has a temporary Biologist position available in our Miami office. 

Skills / Qualifications


  • BS and / or Masters in Biology or Marine Biology
  • Entry level position up to 5 years of experience applying learned skills in Biology in the development of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in the Western Gulf of Mexico
  • Limited travel requirement, position could result in some time spent on research vessel in Western Gulf
  • Ability to write fluently and professionally in Spanish for the development of a complex technical document (EIS)
  • Advanced data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Good technical writing and presentation skills


  • Experience with GIS databases
  • Experience with Marine deep water ecosystems (water column and sea floor)
  • Marine / Oceanic Habitats
  • Key Taxa, Assemblages, Ecological Regimes
  • Phytoplankton and Primary Production
  • Zoo and Mero Plankton
  • Benthic Communities - corals
  • Marine Fish
  • Marine Birds
  • Marine Mammals
  • Sea Turtles
  • Rare and Endangered Species: fish, sea turtles, marine birds and mammals
