Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector - Electrical to support a large international design / build construction project on behalf of the US Government on Kwajalein Atoll. Project will be construction of support facilities and infrastructure for a large radar system. Project duration is approximately 1 year.


Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews and coordinates reviews of material submittals with Designers of Record and QC Manager, QC Coordinator, and Document Control Group
  • Helps update and maintain the QC Plan. Interacts with the QC Manager and QA Manager to address identified deficiencies and close out CARs
  • Conducts preparatory meetings with subcontractors on definable features of work related to electrical scopes of work
  • Supports CM Team relative to close out activities, including commissioning and completions
  • Assists in writing commissioning plans and test plans to support closeout and final acceptance by the client
  • Reviews incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials and  Coordinates with Supply Chain Team
  • Approves in-process construction installation by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and communicating required adjustments to production supervisor
  • Approves finished product installation by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and returning products for re-work as well as confirming re-work
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste
  • Inputting data into quality database
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications

Skills / Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree or combination of technical education, PDH's and certifications
  • 3 to 7 years of industry experience
  • Analyzing Information, Reporting Research Results
  • Documentation Skills, Promoting Process Improvement, Safety Management, Managing Processes, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures
  • Ability to use laboratory test equipment in an effective and safe manner, understand procedural manuals and execute work orders
  • Prepare reports and documentation independently, pay close attention to detail, train others, work independently and follow directions
  • Experience with SharePoint Websites is a plus
