The Project Engineering Manager is part of the Engineering Team, working with Operations and Maintenance groups, to provide engineering and technical support necessary to operate our pipelines and terminal facilities in a manner that is safe, reliable and compliant with all applicable local, state and federal regulations. The position provides overall project direction and objectives on engineering projects, liaising with contractors and engineering staff by monitoring, modifying, close out and evaluate projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:
Provide project engineering direction and technical support to Operations and Maintenance groups
Establish engineering related project objectives (work breakdown structure, schedules) and policies
Supervise cost estimates and project execution plans for pipeline and facility projects
Oversee capital and expense management as related to project expenditure
Provide project updates to engineering management and key stakeholders
Manage pipeline and facility engineering and construction activities by consultants, contractors and/or maintenance group
Ensure projects are executed in accordance with applicable company policies and both local and federal regulatory requirements
Ensure that project documentation policy is properly administered
Monitors financial activities within the scope of the project
Assist in the development of new engineering standards and/or technical guidelines, specifications
Oversee preparation of documents for tendering, contracts and purchase orders
Interaction with regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors and customers
Education and Basic Requirements
B. S. from an accredited university required
Licensed or chartered professional engineer desired
10-15 years of combined technical experience in Engineering, Maintenance or Operations
Experience and Job Skills
Strong knowledge of Pipeline operations and DOT regulations desired
Experience with MS Office: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to collaborate and work in a team environment
Must be able to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and ongoing screening
Valid driver license required
Highly developed skills in all phases of PM, Definition, Planning and Implementation)
