As a Process Technician in the internship conversion program, you will receive training and on-the-job development that will enable you to safely perform the process operations-related tasks listed below:
 

  • Perform in-process analytical testing, analyze in-process test results, and apply appropriate corrective actions
  • Perform minor routine running and preventive maintenance work
  • Maintain all necessary records, and provide a detailed summary of the shift in logbooks, including but not limited to safety, quality, mechanical problems/repairs, and process changes
  • Review with oncoming shift operator a detailed summary of the shift including but not limited to safety, quality, mechanical problems/repairs, and process changes
  • Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition, with aisles and passageways unobstructed
  • Be trained and qualified in all functions of the Operator classification, and operate these functions as assigned
  • Receive training to be certified and operate any powered industrial vehicles required for the completion of work assignments
  • Receive and utilize training for the operation of computer software and hardware tools of the job, including, but not limited to, process control hardware/software, process analytical software, email, and inter/intranet
  To be eligible for this opportunity, you must have completed an Associates of Applied Science degree in Process or Production Technology, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical.  Additionally, you must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
 
In addition to the academic requirements listed above, applicants must also meet the following requirements:
 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis
  • Prior Shell work experience in the form of an internship is preferred
  • Willingness to take and achieve satisfactory results on Shell’s pre-employment testing battery
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Willingness to work at heights, walk on high elevation grating, walk up and down stairs and work in confined spaces and outdoors
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English fluently
  • Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States 
  • Must currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Note, information regarding TWIC qualification standards may be found at
