Duties & Responsibilities Provide management guidance and direction to Oceaneering support personnel for the effective provision and operation of inspection systems and services to the allocated installation and/or site. In order that plant and equipment is certified in accordance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies and legislation ensuring feedback of results to client Asset Group. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.** * Provide technical leadership and authority in inspection/ integrity engineering discipline, designating work and quality standards where applicable to engineers within their technical capabilities. * Ensure Technical Practices are reviewed and communicated to project teams. Where appropriate, challenge and recommend updates to codes of practice and strategies to maintain continuous improvement of the service. * Ensure agreed inspection strategies, procedures, standards and plans are updated when appropriate, implemented and standardised across the projects. * Communicate lessons learned and best practice with Inspection, Corrosion, Structural, Pipeline and Pressure Systems Engineers. * Maintain direct and regular contact with Client and Oceaneering team leaders in order to ensure an effective Integrity Service. * Ensure all work is compliant with relevant client engineering and safety standards including review of any feedback from client. * Accountable for periodic audit of discipline activity and participation in plant and equipment RBA/authoritative reviews/risk analysis against Oceaneering and Client Inspection standards; instigate appropriate remedial action for any non˜ompliance(s). * Ensure the effective communication and application of new techniques, technologies and use of specialist NDT to limit unnecessary intrusive inspection by maximising NII application where appropriate. * Provide support for staff learning and development, competency reviews, and coaching within project team. * Develop innovative solutions, in order to optimise engineering efficiency and ensure Oceaneering take the initiative in all Integrity matters in order to consider available options or opportunities that could enhance efficiency, and/or safety or decrease costs, to the benefit of Oceaneering or clients. * Liaise with third parties such as related service providers, verification bodies etc. to ensure the client business objectives are achieved. * Represent or ensure Oceaneering Asset Integrity is represented on appropriate industry technical forums and groups to ensure that Oceaneering has a presence and input into Asset Integrity strategies and standards. * Provide ongoing review of engineer output to ensure quality and consistency of decisions made. * Provide input to decisions involving limits of acceptability, repairs, modifications, and changes to operating parameters within own limits of competence, or lead consultations with suitably qualified personnel. * Validate technical content of the Written Schemes of Examination or equivalent for appropriate pressure systems or equipment. * Assist in production of reports as required by the client/senior management including technical, performance management (e.g. Key Performance Indicators) and other appropriate reports. **Supervisory Responsibilities** Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications * UKAS RG2 Category 1 compatible (E) * Degree or NVQ Level 5 (such as in City & Guilds) in a suitable Engineering or Science subject (E) * Mechanical Engineering (P) * Chartered Engineer as defined by the Eng Council (or equivalent) through a suitable Engineering Institute (E). * ASME or CSWIP Plant Inspector Level 2 certification (P) * API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector and API 570 Piping Inspection (P) * API 653 or EMMUA 159 Level 1 Tank Inspection certification, if position is for a landsite containing large storage tanks (P) * Offshore medical, BOSIET and MIST certification (P) * Confined Space Entry training (P) * Assessor qualification e.g., D32/33, A/V units or LD9DI (P) **Experience** * Significant specific experience related to the job description (E) * Expert knowledge of standards, risk assessments and legislation associated with the in-service inspection of plant and equipment (E) * Expert knowledge of design, manufacture, metallurgy, welding and codes associated with fabrication and construction of plant and equipment (P) * Must be familiar with QA/QC systems/procedures and NDT techniques (E) * Microsoft Office (E) * ACET or equivalent (P) * Previous experience of coaching, mentoring and carrying out competency assessments (P) **Required Skills and Aptitudes** * Ability to guide team(s) in prioritising workload effectively (E) * Provide leadership, coaching or guidance to others.
