Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a Senior Industrial Hygienist with broad knowledge and ability to join an experienced team of industrial hygienists performing consulting work for established clients in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform industrial hygiene assessments for potential health hazards at various client workplaces including evaluations for chemicals, particulates, noise, asbestos, ventilation, radio-frequency radiation
  • Conduct industrial hygiene exposure assessments including walk-through surveys, inspections, exposure monitoring and hazard control evaluations
  • Perform indoor air quality assessments
  • Prepare concise technical reports on the assessments conducted and provide recommendations to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards
  • Interpretation of industrial hygiene requirements and regulations
  • Assist Project Manager in coordinating, planning and executing projects
  • Assist in preparing proposals
  • Participate as faculty in training programs related to industrial hygiene and safety
  • About 30% of travel is required within the beautiful Pacific Northwest

Skills / Qualifications


  • Masters degree in industrial hygiene or related field with industrial hygiene course work completed
  • Six to eight years industrial hygiene experience assessing a variety of work settings and stressors
  • Knowledge of industry occupational safety and health regulations in for general industry and construction settings in Oregon and Washington as well as for federal clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high quality of work on time
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card)
  • Certification in Industrial Hygiene or IH eligible to be CIH in 1-2 years
  • Ability to travel 30% within the Pacific Northwest
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy


  • Experience performing safety and health training and preparing training materials
  • Ability to write proposals and scope of work for consulting 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as, hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, steel-toed boots, fall protection harnesses
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders and stand for extended periods of time
