Job Purpose

The Company is seeking a member of the Refinery Leadership Team that creates and communicates the Refinery vision. This person will develop and implement the strategic plan and is responsible for the ongoing management of the organization. He/she will supervise, facilitate, and coach the development of technical organization strategies and plans that are aligned with business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Specific priorities and responsibilities of the position are:

Implementing the Technical strategic plan developed by the Refinery Leadership Team.

  • Provides input to capital expenditures, operating cost, and yield objectives established for the refinery.
  • Directs a continuing program for Technical Dept. safety ensuring that all employees are adequately trained in safety methods, and that all activities are conducted in a safe manner.
  • Ensures Process Safety is integral in Technical activities.
  • Sets work priorities for all support groups including Process Engineering, Designs Engineering, Shutdowns, Process Control Engineering, Information Technology, Capital Projects, Laboratory, and local Technical Experts.
  • Supervises & coaches all Technical Staff reporting directly and indirectly within the department.
  • Responsible for facilitating and coaching to establish and maintain standards for team member performance. Use metrics to measure performance.
  • Delegates effectively; & sets clear expectations, provides feedback and supports PMP and career planning.
  • Successfully manages employee issues to completion. Drives compliance & administers Company personnel policies and programs.
  • Assumes overall responsibility for employee development, establishes standards of performance, assigns special projects, recommends salaries in line with performance, and provides information and potential of subordinates.


This role reports to the Refinery Manager/CEO

Role Location

The role will be based at the refinery in Kapolei, Hawaii.
