Overview / Responsibilities

To support Amec Foster Wheeler’s growth, we are currently seeking an Environmental Technician in our Montreal office. The Technician will report to the Team Lead of the Environmental departments, and play a key role in the successful completion of projects. A self-motivated individual, who enjoys working on site, on a variety of projects will thrive in this environment.  


Key Responsibilities  

  • Execute Environmental investigations on sites
  • Carry out field work in the context of environmental site assessments Phase II ESA and Site rehabilitation
  • Write administrative and technical environmental reports, ensuring deadlines and estimates for the work are met
  • As part of the technical evaluation, you will be required to go to site and may be required to work outside normal hours of employment, including nights and weekends
  • Resolve technical issues relating to your technical discipline (and support the resolutions for other disciplines), customers and other stakeholders
  • Taking care of maintaining sampling equipment
  • Work with people from different offices, regions and divisions dedicated to the success of Amec Foster Wheeler
  • Provide excellent customer service and a commitment to technical excellence
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

  • A recognized Technical Diploma in Civil or Environmental engineering discipline (or similar)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of soils and groundwater tests, as per ministries’ guidelines
  • Hands on experience handling sampling equipment
  • Knowledge of executing geotechnical investigations and various testing processes for soil, concrete and other field tests is a plus
  • Well organized, with the ability to work independently and handle pressure
  • Strong communications skills in French (Bilingualism an asset) with excellent technical writing skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Valid Driver’s License, and the ability to travel to sites as needed
  • ASP Construction card
