Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Personnel and Financial Officer to work in our Basel office in Switzerland. This would be a permanent staff position with the successful candidate having a good level of experience in Financial Reporting, General Accounting, Human Resourcing and office administration.

The successful candidate will be someone that has a flexible, independent and proactive nature, whilst also enjoying working for an international organisation. We are also ideally looking for someone that has good knowledge of Swiss rules and regulations in the HR, Finance and accounting fields.



  • Preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual closings, willing to achieve tight reporting deadlines 
  • Payroll Administration and processing new hire and termination administration
  • Support of Recruiting on administrational and consulting basis and maintaining the recruitment management system
  • Preparation of trial balances and forecastings
  • Directly interface with corporate Amec Foster Wheeler entities regarding HR, Finance and General Accounting
  • Management of administrational assistant
  • To comply with Statutory Regulations
  • Performing other administrative tasks as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • 5 years practical experience in accounting, project control and office administration
  • Degree in Accounting / Bookkeeping
  • Fluency in German and English in writing and word is a must. French or any other language an asset
  • Familiarity and knowledge of applicable laws and local customs
  • Knowledge of Swiss social insurance systems
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – Excel, Word
  • Self-reliant, motivated, proactive individual with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented with thorough follow up skills
  • Work closely with the executive management team in tracking performance vs. budget vs. forecast and providing standardized financial analysis
  • Adaptable to change and to accept new responsibilities within the context of the position
  • Team oriented and willingness to learn and work occasional overtime
