Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking to recruit a competent Project Coordinator to join the Al Zour refinery project team. The Project Coordinator will manage the interface between Amec Foster Wheeler Functional teams based in Amsterdam for the engineering phase of the project for approximately 15-18 months before joining the team in Kuwait for the construction / completion phase of the project with approximate period of 24 months.



  • Facilitate the flow of information between PMC, company and EPC contractors
  • Liaise with field engineering and PMC project office site to prioritize any design changes / RFIs which will have a schedule and programme impact
  • Expedite and prioritize all activities / instructions referred back to the Regional Head Office or PMC Project office site design team and see to it that there is timely resolution
  • Assist with project setup and development / coordination of project-specific PMP and related PIFs
  • Issue and maintain the project-specific PMP, related PIFs and documents
  • Provide support to develop and update project coordination processes including Approval Matrix, ITB and Contract Documents, Communications Interface Matrix, Key Stakeholder Contact List, Information Needs List and Project Review Action Log
  • Assist with organization of project kick-off meeting
  • Assistance with monthly project progress reports, as required
  • Assist with internal and external project reviews and audits
  • Assist with project financial and commercial matters
  • Assist with project-specific change and risk management
  • Assist with validation and close-out of project
  • Attend site meetings and project workshops, as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • Basic qualification: BSc Engineering
  • Minimum industrial experience: 20 years
  • Experience in similar position: 5 years
  • Track record for the past 8 years with experience in PMC organizations in project management under refinery / petrochemical industries and must have managed handling project coordination work of major projects of value not less than US$500 million each

  • With personality and drive to support the Package Project Manager in managing the PMC Project team to achieve the project objective
  • With high professional competence and management skills
  • With ability in motivating the PMC project team to achieve high quality performance during the execution of the project
