Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure currently has an opportunity available for a Database Analyst in our Pittsburgh office.


Key Responsibilities  

  • Performs field sampling observations and data collection assignments
  • Performs standard or routine calculations
  • Compiles information from reports and published documents - May, under limited supervision, evaluate or analyze the compiled information following standard methods or specific instructions
  • Recognizes and identifies discrepancies in results obtained in such assignments and follow up through a series of related steps or procedures, as directed by more senior personnel
  • Under direct supervision of the project manager or senior staff, represents Amec Foster Wheeler and interacts in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives while on assignments
  • Responsible for ensuring the Firm’s administrative and financial policies and procedures as well as the methods and procedures specific to his/her specific discipline are followed
  • Understands and applies safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required; Master’s Degree a plus
  • 0 – 2 years of prior related work experience; experience in fieldwork is desirable
  • Experience with desktop and industry-specific software (e.g., MSOffice, AutoCAD, and MSProject) desired
  • Hands on knowledge of the use of field equipment desirable
  • Must have sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly with co-workers, on-site contractors, supervisor or project manager regarding work assignments required
  • May travel frequently to project sites depending on particular assignment, including sites remote from the office, as part of on-site team
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to drive large pick-up truck; ability to drive a trailer helpful
  • Ability to use hands to operate field equipment
  • Close, distance, and peripheral vision; normal auditory function
  • Must complete employment physical demonstrating ability to meet job requirements, including the ability to wear a respirator, as required
  • Completion of annual or bi-annual employment physical, as required
