Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Instrumentation & Electrical Mechanic located in Salt Lake City, Utah through October 5, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • The I&E Mechanic will troubleshoot and make mechanical repairs to:
    • process control loops
    • displacer and DP type level transmitters
    • control valves
    • I/P transducers
    • electronic transmitters
    • RTD’s and thermocouples
    • control systems
    • low and medium voltage distribution systems.
    • 480 and 4160 three-phase systems
    • 120, 240, 480, and 4160 volt motor control circuits
    • three-phase induction motors
  • Other miscellaneous instrument and electrical system work as required
  • The position works with other Maintenance crafts, Reliability, Operations and Engineering on a daily basis
  • The position will typically work a 4x10 dayshift work schedule. Typical shifts are M-Th or T-F but can vary based on work needs. Occasional shift work is required.
  • The position may also require work outside regular shifts when needed
  • Work associated with this position is done outdoors year-round

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a completed apprenticeship or certificate from a trade or technical school, with experience
  • Experience working with and/or knowledge of:
    • electrical drawings
    • Class 1 Division 1 and 2 requirements
    • National Electric Code
  • Must have a proven safety record and be familiar with OSHA requirements for the trade
  • This is a safety sensitive position - all applicants must pass pre-employment physical examinations, drug screen, and background security checks
