~~AECOM is seeking a Safety Specialist II or Safety Specialist III to be based in our Las Vegas, Nevada location.

Safety Specialist II

Typical Responsibilities:
•Under general supervision performs technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
•Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
•Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
•Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases that could be found in the work area.
•Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
•Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazard.
•Conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.
•Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
•May provide guidance for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel.


Safety Specialist III

Typical Responsibilities:
•Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, safety and health disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
•Maintains current knowledge of specific government agency requirements.
•Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
•Develops, implements and maintains safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
•Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases in the work area. Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.
•Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment to minimize hazards.
•Develops and conducts employee training, emergency preparedness and assures the quality of programs.
•Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
•May act as a lead role for a team of ES&H specialists and/or support personnel.
•May administer an ES&H program on a small or medium-sized project.
 
*Minimum Requirements 
Safety Specialist II

Education:
•Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent.

Experience:
•2 years of safety, health, or environmental engineering experience.
•CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) Certification or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) required

OR

Safety Specialist III

Education:
•Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent.

Experience:
•4 years of safety, health, or environmental engineering experience.
•CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) Certification or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) required
 
*Preferred Qualifications 
•Previous experience facilitating safety training
•Bilingual ( English / Spanish ) - both oral and written
•Previous safety experience in an industrial construction environment
