Insulators should be competent with the application procedures relating to - Hot (Thermal), Cold (Cryogenic), Acoustic (Noise), PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and PFP (Fire Protection) insulation, also Personal Protection (cage guards). It is their responsibility to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the workscope duration, being a key member as part of the team to deliver a high standard of work on project completion.
Work Location:
The position is primarily offshore in the U.K Oil & Gas Sector, although this can change to being onshore based or in overseas locations.  The adhoc nature of the projects undertaken can result in irregular work rotas short term to long term periods dependant on the workscope.

Minimum Task Achievement Requirements:
? Set up / Test & operate equipment
? Knowledge and understanding of hot, cold & acoustics materials
? Application of insulation & non-metallic cladding materials
? Fabrication & application of sheet metal

Understanding and knowledge:
Installation of thermal insulation & SS cladding

Minimum Training Requirements
? Knowledge of company Quality/Safety procedures
? COSHH - Awareness
? Knowledge of client specification/Manufacturers data sheets
? Clients permit training
? Health/Safety and Environmental Risk Assessment - awareness
? Work at height regulations - awareness
? Confined space awareness

Operatives Commitment To Safety Duties:
? Be actively involved and contribute to completing an onsite Task Based Risk Assessment which identifies additional risks or hazards involved in the workscope prior to work commencing.
? Ensuring they are working under the correct valid permits and the associated paper work is in place prior to work commencing.
? Be actively involved in the onsite daily tool box talk confirm that he understands what the workscope involves and be aware if there any changes to the work or worksite.
? Ensure all equipment has been fully safety checked, function test of plant equipment prior to use.
? As a minimum do  not start  work  until satisfied all of the above is in place
? If in doubt ask my Supervisor
