The Skilled Laborer position provides support to the crew by assisting with the installation/repair of gas lines
•Operate construction equipment (i.e. Rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, trencher, asphalt paving machine, etc.)
•Using the equipment provided the operator digs the ditch line for gas mains (new and existing)
This position requires a minimum of 6 months experience working on a gas mainline crew. The position also prefers fusion and tie-in certifications (provided by the gas company).
•Experience in construction and/or utility industry is also preferred.

The physical, emotional and environmental demands of this position take on the characteristics typical of the construction environment. This position will frequently perform duties where sitting with occasionally standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive hand motions, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibrations, dust, odors and moving machinery are part of daily routines. The position has deadlines under pressure as well as a rare potential for irregular activity schedules. The workday includes a minimum of 8.0 hours per day with breaks taken according to the daily project schedule. This position has measurable performance criteria, must take instruction and regularly travels to job sites with a majority of time spent outdoors

•Perform a pre trip inspection of your truck.
•Turn in pre trip form.
•Notify the maintenance department of any defect that affects the safe operation of vehicle.
•Sync up with Foreman on what is needed that day.
•Responsible for the loading of the crew truck for daily operation.
•Direct the activity of the labors and operators in AM loading of trucks.
•Must wear PPE at all times required.
•Perform duties as assigned by your Foreman.
•Responsible for keeping crew truck clean inside and out. Front and Back.
•Make sure truck is chocked while parked.
•No talking or texting on personal cell phone at any time except in emergencies.
•At end of day make sure truck is secured and has no keys left in it.
•Certification cards Fusion/OQ. Must be carried on person at all times.
•Assist foreman with teaching and training of new hands.
