LOCATION: SW of Baton Rouge, Louisiana
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To insure the integrity and reliability of all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems including installation, troubleshooting, and continued calibration and maintenance within the assigned area. This will include: natural gas processing plant, compressor station, pigging facilities, and metering station.
SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE:
•Responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power systems, instrumentation, and control system equipment within the assigned area.
•Communicate at a technical level and interface with Company personnel, including making recommendations for improvement, replacement, and additions of I&E equipment required for safe and continued operation.
•Safely perform duties to install, configure, test, calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and inspect electrical, instrumentation, and control system equipment.
•Pressure, flow, temperature controls, process limited controllers, gas analysis equipment, motor controls, generators, and equipment including voltage up to 4160 volts.
•Basic knowledge of PLC operations and logic programming.
•Use and understand the principles of operation of all meters and instruments used in applicable I&E work.
•Work with drawings, sketches, specs, as-builts, and make new for proposed installations and completed projects.
•Make recommendations for improvement, replacement, and additions of E&I equipment required for safe and continued operation, including cost estimates for CAPEX.
•Maintain typical I&E equipment.
•Must have task prioritizing skills.
•Capable of performing duties independently with minimal supervision.
•Plant and field operations' group, Safety, Environmental, Operations, and Engineering Departments.
•Producers, customers, vendors, regulatory agencies, and the public.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
•High School diploma or equivalent. Technical schooling helpful.
•5 years of comprehensive I&E experience and 5 years of experience within natural gas compression operations REQUIRED.
•Must have experience in operating and maintaining equipment within natural gas facilities.
•Proficient computer skills.
•A valid driver's license.
•Must be able to speak fluent English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Must pass pre-employment and subject to random DOT drug testing.
•Must be capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
•Must be capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, walking on catwalks, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment.
•Required to be on rotating 24 hour call schedule.
MUST live within 45 minutes of Plaquemine plants.
