As announced on March 16, Motiva’s owners have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent to separate the assets and businesses of the joint venture. Saudi Aramco publicly stated at that time Motiva will be set up as an autonomous integrated downstream affiliate. As such, Motiva remains committed to managing its current business and preparing the organization to function as a stand-alone entity.   The experienced Indirect Tax Business Analyst’s purpose:

  • Provide application support in the area of fuel and sales/use tax reporting
  • Collaboration with the Indirect Tax Compliance team in designing, developing, implementing and supporting technological solutions and systems for fuel and sales/use tax reporting
  • Implementation of the fuel tax legal and fiscal reporting requirements, understanding the fuel tax reporting impacts of new business activity / models
  • Translate and integrate business processes, data and operating environment requirements into the tax compliance applications (ARE, CorpSales)
    Project Agility Delivery – as part of the Indirect Tax project team:
  • Active participation with the development, testing, deployment and training of PEGA
  • Identification and escalation of missing PEGA user stories
  • Involved in the redesign efforts to create synergies between Right Angle and ARE
  • Presents and demonstrate software to end users, gathering feedback and sensibly addressing user concerns
  • Understanding of the Data Lake warehouse and Right Angle, Cognos reports
    Post Project Agility Go Live:
  • Relationship management with Motiva IT and 3rd party service providers as needed
  • With the tax applications; manages test planning and execution status, articulates issues and brings to Motiva IT, 3rd party service providers to ensure proper resolution
  • Verifies delivered features and software to ensure all functional and non-functional acceptance criteria are met
  • Troubleshoot tax applications; e.g. ARE, CorpSales, PEGA
  • Monitor and provide proactive, value-added proposals and recommendations regarding indirect tax system developments in Motiva’s agile and nimble environment
  • Experienced with data mining and report creation
  • Build out Motiva 2.0 requirements
  • Active with application user groups
    • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Minimum eight (8) years of downstream oil and gas experience.
    • Proven experience with the following applications preferred (ARE, Cognos, CorpSales, PEGA and Right Angle)
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Access.
    • Proven ability to adapt to new/changing circumstances and ambiguous/pressured situations.
    • Proven ability to creatively propose solutions to indirect tax issues, while effectively considering associated risks.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of various state and local fuel and sale/ use tax laws and procedures.
