RWE Dea Granted Drilling Permit in North Sea



The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted RWE Dea Norge AS a drilling permit for well 35/9-6 S, which will be drilled by the Bredford Dolphin semisub in Production License 420. The permit is conditional upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before drilling can start. Situated about 9 miles (15 kilometers) west of the Gjoa field in the Norwegian North Sea, the well is the first to be drilled in this license. RWE Dea Norge AS is the operator of the license, with an ownership interest of 30%; Statoil owns 40%; and Idemitsu Petroleum Norge owns 30%.
