GEMS, A+D Enter Technical Partnership

GEMS and Automasjon & Data AS (A+D) announced their newly formed technical partnership offering a wide range of services in support of the global renewables and oil and gas markets. This initiative enables the two companies to fully address the increasing demands of the offshore energy sector by combining GEMS International's global geotechnical, geophysical, metocean and environmental marine survey expertise with A+D's long association with the oil and gas market, installing and operating Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS) and Helideck Motion Systems (HMS). The partnership now offers a full range of survey services to the Norwegian market, including metocean systems and moorings, geophysical, geotechnical and environmental surveys.

The increasing demand for energy and marine resources, and support for ports and coastal development, has seen both companies' rapid expansion since mid-2000s. Growth is underpinned by teams of experienced technical personnel, some with over 30 years marine survey and systems experience, and a desire to provide high quality, cost effective solutions for their clients.

GEMS Group Business Development Director, Mike Baker, said of the partnership, "We are delighted to draw on A+D's technical strengths and significant Norwegian presence to reinforce GEMS aggressive expansion into the marine survey market. A+D's ambition to be a market leader are mirrored by GEMS' own aspirations, and this co-collaboration will further enhance both companies' global capabilities."
