Senergy announced the appointment of a high-profile oil and gas industry figure to head up its expanding Norway operation which is expected to double in size over the next two years.
Øystein Roti takes up the post of managing director, Senergy Norway, and will be based at Senergy's Stavanger office where additional new employment opportunities are also being created.
The founder and CEO of successful Norwegian companies 4Sea Energy and Orocom, Øystein has had a distinguished career in the energy sector spanning more than 20 years. A former vice president of DONG Energy AS, he has also held various international positions with Shell, as well as spending several years as asset manager for Shell E&P Norway AS.
Senergy's chief executive officer James McCallum believes Øystein will be a valuable asset to the company and his knowledge of the Norwegian sector will be fundamental in further driving forward Senergy's business expansion in the region.
"The significant rate of growth in Senergy's Norway operations is largely attributed to our niche and specialist oil and gas services," said James. "It is also in line with Senergy's ambitious target for future global growth, as we focus on increasing our turnover from £80 million (775 million NOK) to £300 million (2900 million NOK) over the next five years.
"In light of this, one of our key objectives this year is to ensure that we have a robust infrastructure across the company and this includes having the right people in place. Appointing Øystein as managing director in Norway is integral to our growth strategy and we're particularly pleased to have attracted someone of his caliber.
"He has a great depth of industry experience which originates from his early career as a reservoir engineer, and his local knowledge and network in the Norwegian market will further enhance the team's capabilities. Having successfully founded his own companies, Øystein shares the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit with which Senergy has become renowned, and which will accelerate the future expansion of our Norwegian operations."
Øystein said, "Through its niche services and innovations, Senergy has rapidly emerged as a key player in Norway's energy sector and I am delighted to join a team which has already achieved significant success. We aim to build on this by further developing the business both organically and through acquisition, capitalizing on new opportunities in the market by developing strategic partnerships and through our innovative technologies such as Wellscope™, which has been shortlisted for a prestigious ONS Innovation Award.
