Fairfield Awards Subsea Contract to Technip

Fairfield Energy awarded a contract to Technip for the provision of Subsea Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) services for the Dunlin Fuel Gas pipeline project. The construction of this gas import pipeline will allow the Dunlin platform to become fully self sufficient in fuel gas, leading to a much improved power generation capability, stated Fairfield. The project entails Dunlin being connected to a long-term fuel gas supply via the Thistle-Don pipeline, currently operated by EnQuest PLC. This will result in improved volumes of reservoir water injection in order to further increase the oil production from three fields: Dunlin, Osprey, and Merlin. Dunlin is located on Blocks 211/23a and 211/24a in the UK sector of the North Sea.
