Wood Group attorney Francisco Balduzzi has been appointed president of Instituto Argentino del Petroleo Houston (IAPGH). Francisco is senior counsel with Wood Group and has responsibility for the management of Wood Group’s legal affairs in Latin America.
The IAPGH is a non-profit independent organization based in Texas. The organization's mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of relevant scientific, technological, commercial and regulatory issues pertaining to the energy sector in Argentina and its related markets.
Francisco will focus on leading the IAPGH to achieve its goals, including facilitating the understanding of Argentina's energy sector business environment.
One of the most significant of IAPGH's projects is the establishment of a scholarship program, which Francisco helped develop. The goal of the scholarship is to foster programs for development and growth of experienced Argentine professionals planning to pursue a graduate degree program in the US. This may be in petroleum engineering, geosciences (geology and geophysics), and environmental engineering related to the petroleum industry.
Francisco said, "I am proud to be part of the IAPGH as it enables me to give back to my home country by contributing to the education of the future Argentine leaders within the oil & gas industry."
