EnQuest Commences Drilling at West Don Field

EnQuest has commenced drilling on the 211/18a-W4 well targeting the southern area of the West Don field. The Transocean John Shaw semisub is performing the drilling operations, and completion of the well is scheduled for mid-to-late September 2010. Oil is currently producing from West Don from two existing production wells. West Don is located on UK Blocks 211/13b and 211/18a in a water depth of 499 feet (152 meters), 93 miles (150 kilometers) northeast of the Shetland Islands. Petrofac, the operator, owns 28% of the field; Valiat owns 17.28%; First Oil Expro owns 19.28%; Nippon Oil Exploration and Production UK Limited owns 19%; and Stratic Energy Ltd. owns the remaining 17.25%.
