BP CEO: Confident Macondo Well Is Now Sealed

Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

LONDON (Dow Jones Newswires), July 27, 2010

BP's Chief Executive Tony Hayward said Tuesday he is confident that the leaking Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico has been permanently sealed by the cap installed on the well on July 16.

Boats and airplanes participating in the cleanup operations are finding it increasingly difficult to locate oil on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico, he said at a conference for analysts in London.
