Salamander Abandons 2nd Dry Well Offshore Vietnam
Salamander Energy plugged and abandoned the Tom Hum Xanh-1X well in Block 31 offshore southern Vietnam. The 31-THX-1X well was drilled to a true vertical depth of 6,890 feet (2,103 meters) and did not encounter significant hydrocarbons in the targeted reservoir section. Drilled by the PV Drilling I jackup, the well was abandoned as a dry hole. Serving as operator of the block, Salamander holds a 35% interest; PetroVietnam holds 40%; and Origin Energy holds 25%.
