The National Stripper Well Association announced the appointment of Kansas' David Murfin as its 2010/2011Chairman of the NSWA Executive Board of Directors. Murfin currently serves as president of Murfin Drilling Company, Inc. and chairman and CEO of Murfin, Inc., both based in Wichita, Kanasas, but include numerous diverse business operations.
"We are so pleased to have Dave serve the National Stripper Well Association membership in this capacity," said Dewey Bartlett, Jr., Tulsa Mayor and immediate past-chairman for NSWA. "Dave is passionate about the issues facing the Mom and Pop oil and natural gas producers, and we know that he will ensure NSWA's voice is heard and interests represented in Washington DC – as well as in the 35 states where stripper and marginal wells are actively producing resources for our country."
"I am honored to represent the National Stripper Well Association membership in this role," said Murfin. "Stripper (or marginal wells) have been an important part of my family's life for 84 years now. I will do everything that I can to fight for the survival of the small business men and women of our nation’s critical oil and natural gas industry."
