ConocoPhillips Gets Go-Ahead to Use Jackup at Ekofisk

ConocoPhillips received approval from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to carry out well work on Ekofisk 2/4 Bravo using the Maersk Gallant jackup. The consent entails plugging and drilling a sidetrack well from an existing production well. Work should commence in September and last for about 140 days. The Ekofisk field is located in the southern part of the North Sea in a water depth of 243 feet (74 meters). Ekofisk is located on Blocks 2/4 and 2/7 about 200 miles (322 kilometers) southwest of Stavanger. ConocoPhillips operates the project.
