Russian Prosecutors End Khodorkovsky Investigation

The Russian Prosecutor General's Office Tuesday finished its investigation into the criminal case against OAO Yukos' former chief executive Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Interfax news agency reported.

"We informed Khodorkovsky and his defense attorney today that the preliminary investigation into the criminal case against him has been completed," an official with the Prosecutors told the agency.

Khodorkovsky was arrested October 25th, on seven charges of fraud and tax evasion. His Yukos shares were sequestered.

The conclusion of the investigation means Khodorkovsky's trial should take place by the end of December, although prosecutors haven't announced a date.

Khodorkovsky and his defense team have started reading the material gathered in the investigation, Interfax reported.
