EGPC Grants HPI Prime Contractor Right for Major Projects

HPI announced their receipt of the EGPC certification from the Ministry of Oil in Egypt. The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), certifies companies for contracting work in the oil and gas sector. This certification grants HPI the right to act as prime contractor on major projects in Egypt.

Opened in 2004, the HPI office in Egypt is now headquarters for HPI projects undertaken in North Africa, Egypt and the Middle East. Projects currently underway include the instrumentation and controls for multiple Caterpillar diesel engines, upgrade of the controls of several Ruston TB5000 generators and compressors, as well as two GE Frame 3 compressor sets for the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO).

"We are thrilled to have received the EGPC certification," said Fady Yassin, General Manager of HPI Egypt. "The EGPC certification enables HPI to be received as a direct supplier to companies in Africa and the Middle East. We have already won several projects in the region and anticipate solid growth in 2010."
