SapuraAcergy has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to TSmarine to provide an ROV Support Vessel to assist the Sapura 3000 Pipelay Installation Vessel during the Shell Gumusut - Kakap 2010 Deep Water Campaign.
TSmarine CEO John Edwards said the decision was an endorsement of the company's move to recently establish an office in Kuala Lumpur.
"This $6MM, 65 day contract is a vote of confidence in our capability, service delivery and competitiveness in the region," Mr. Edwards said.
"We will mobilize the DP2 multirole construction intervention vessel Havila Harmony, complete with two deep water ROVs and 150T active heave compensated crane, to Labuan Malaysia in July 2010," Mr. Edwards said.
He said additional ROV tooling and survey services would be mobilized onto the vessel to undertake the survey support, pre- and post pipelay operations in water depths ranging from 30 to 1,300m.
"The Havila Harmony's specification, like all of our assets, is well suited to deepwater construction work scopes and meets the high standards demanded by SapuraAcergy and Shell."
