Petrobras contracted PGS to install a fiber-optic permanent seismic reservoir monitoring system in the Jubarte field. PGS will provide and install its OptoSeis fiber-optic system, as well as perform seismic acquisition and data processing for the project. Initial work will cover a portion of the Jubarte field that is more than 60,541 acres (245 square kilometers) in waters measuring 4,068 to 4,429 feet (1,240 to 1,350 meters). Depending on the results, the service could be extended to cover the entire Jubarte field. The data gathered from the system will improve decisions on well placements and IOR/EOR programs, which will increase recovery factor of deepwater field developments. The Jubarte field is located on Block BC-60 offshore Brazil in a water depth of 4,478 feet (1,365 meters).
