Salamander Spuds Well Offshore Vietnam



Salamander Energy spudded the Tom Su Lua-1X exploration well (DBSCL01-TSL-1X) in Block DBSCL-01 in the Vinh Chau Graben system, offshore southern Vietnam. The well will be drilled to a depth of about 4,593 feet (1,400 meters) and is targeting oil in the Eocene-Oligocene clastics as well as pre-Tertiary basement. The mean gross pre-drill estimate of the prospect's recoverable resource is c. 60 MMbo. Drilled by the PV Drilling I jackup in a water depth of 49 feet (15 meters), the well should take about 25 days to complete, depending on the results. Salamander Energy holds a 75%-operating interest in Block DBSCL-01.
