Det norske Gets OK to Drill in North Sea

Det norske received consent to conduct exploratory drilling on well 24/12-6 S using the Songa Delta semisub. The operator plans to commence drilling on the Stirby prospect in the Norwegian North Sea in June 2010. Situated in Production License 341 in a water depth of 377 feet (115 meters), the well should take about 110 days to drill, excluding testing. Det norske operates the license, holding a 30% interest; Talisman Energy holds 8%; Wintershall holds 20%; Marathon Energy holds 12%; Bayerngas holds 10%; and Spring Energy holds 10%.
