Orca Exploration Nominates Member to BOD
Orca Exploration announced that the Right Honorable Michael Howard, QC has agreed to stand as a nominee for election to the Company's Board of Directors at its annual and special meeting of shareholders to be held on June 23, 2010.
Michael Howard, a former Leader of the British Conservative Party, has had a distinguished political career spanning three decades. "We are very honored that Michael Howard has accepted nomination to Orca's Board of Directors. He is a well known figure on the international stage and is well known for the breadth of his global interests," said David Lyons, Orca's Chairman and CEO. "We are looking forward to the strength and perspective he will bring to Orca's Board."
Mr. Howard served as a cabinet minister for 7 years and was a member of parliament for 12 years. Between 1990 and 1997 he held the cabinet posts of Home Secretary, Secretary of State for the Environment and Secretary of State for Employment. Outside the UK he was the Founding Chairman of the Atlantic Partnership - an organization promoting the benefits of a strong Atlantic community of nations.
He was elected Leader of the Conservative Party in 2003 and led the party in the 2005 General Election. He retired as a Member of Parliament in 2010 and is now pursing an international business career. His business interests now include technology, mining, insurance and sporting operations. He also serves on two advisory boards.
