Fracture Stimulation Commences at Sugarloaf Project

Empyrean updated on operations on Block B at the Sugarloaf Project.

Empyrean has been advised by the Operator that the multi-stage fracture stimulation operation of the Rancho Grande-1H well commenced on May 17, 2010 and is now well underway. The operational design of the fracture stimulation is similar to that carried out successfully on the Morgan-1H and Easley-1H wells. Following completion of this operation the well will be flowed directly to sales.

Rancho Grande-1H is the third of three new wells required to be drilled and stimulated under the Hilcorp farmin arrangements at the Sugarloaf Project.

A further announcement will be made once the stimulation is completed and the well has achieved a stabilized flow.
