OGX has concluded the drilling of wells OGX-6, Etna, and OGX-8, Fuji, located in the BM-C-41 block in the shallow waters of the southern part of the Campos Basin. The completed drilling activities give OGX a better understanding of the geological parameters of Block BM-C-41, where the reservoir's characteristics are very similar to those identified in wells OGX-2A and OGX-3. The data obtained indicate that the Albian and Aptian reservoirs of the Pipeline and Etna prospects (OGX-2 and OGX-6) are a single connected accumulation at each geological layer. Further studying is needed to determine if there is a single connection between the Waimea and Fuji prospects (OGX-3 and OGX-8).
Based on 3D seismic data interpretation and final well information, OGX estimates recoverable oil volumes between 1.4 and 2.6 billion barrels for the accumulation composed of the Pipeline and Etna prospects. For the Waimea and Fuji prospects, the recoverable oil volume is estimated between 600 and 1.1 million barrels. The Ocean Quest semisub and the Ocean Star semisub drilled the OGX-6 well, and the OGX-8 well, respectively.
