ROVs Attempting to Align Dome - Report

Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

According to an Associated Press report posted at 11:45 a.m. CDT Friday on the New Orleans Times-Picayune's Web site, a BP spokesman said that the concrete and steel containment dome was suspended above the leaking Macondo well. He is quoted as saying that four to five remotely operating vehicles (ROVs) were trying to properly position it.

It is unknown when the cofferdam will reach the seafloor, but BP and Coast Guard officials have announced a press conference this afternoon to discuss the status of the operation.
