Piedmont Natural Gas Says Hello to New Senior VP
Piedmont Natural Gas announced the hiring of Mr. Karl W. Newlin, as Senior Vice President – Corporate Planning and Business Development. He will assume his position with the Company on May 10, 2010 and will report directly to Piedmont Chairman, President and CEO Thomas E. Skains. Mr. Newlin was until recently Managing Director, Investment Banking with Merrill Lynch.
In his new position, Mr. Newlin will oversee the Company's strategic planning functions, new business development activities, carbon management initiatives and joint venture investments.
Commenting on the addition of Mr. Newlin to Piedmont’s Executive Management Team, Mr. Skains said, "We are very fortunate to have someone of Karl's experience and talent step into this new position at Piedmont. He broadens the skill sets of our executive management team and his leadership will play an important role in our future success in a new energy economy."
Mr. Newlin earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University and his Master of Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management. He and his family will move from Santa Monica, California, to Charlotte, North Carolina.
