Statoil received consent to use the Safe Scandinavia mobile accommodation facility at the Snorre A platform during periods of high activity in 2010 and 2011. The facility will anchor southwest of Snorre A with a gangway connection. High activity consists of upgrading the facilities safety automation system, the fire and gas system and upgrading the living quarters. Snorre, producing since 1992, is a large oil field located on Norwegian Blocks 34/4 and 34/7 in the Tampen area of the North Sea in water depths of 984 to 1,148 feet (300 to 350 meters).
