Desire Targets Deepest Play at Falklands Well
The exploratory well, 14/19-1, on the Liz prospect is continuing with wireline operations. From the interpretation of the logs received, it appears the deepest play type still hasn't been reached and Desire's intention is to drill a further 656 feet (200 meters) to test this play. Wireline logging and sampling were completed at a depth of 11,155 feet (3,400 meters) where the deeper gas shows were encountered, but petrophysical interpretation shows that gas pay was penetrated and the reservoir is of poor quality. The operator still has to perform wireline sampling and pressure recording on the Liz target and on several zones where hydrocarbon shows were found. The well is being drilled by Diamond Offshore's Ocean Guardian semisub.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
