Schat-Harding received the distinction Award for Design Excellence 2010 from the Norwegian Design Council for its free-fall lifeboat, FF1200. This lifeboat sets a new standard for offshore safety, and according to the company, the safest lifeboat the world has ever seen.
"Schat-Harding is proud to receive the recognition for the efforts we’ve done, that lies behind such distinction. This means that we have been noticed for our complete and knowledgeable design that contributes in boosting safety. We have designed a lifeboat with major demands associated to it, and this award confirms that we have done very well during its development," said Sales and Marketing Director Per Einar Gjerding.
"We are currently preparing for the delivery of the first FF1200 boats to our customer.
"We are very pleased that our experience and design knowledge, in close cooperation with our customer and the authorities, have brought this boat to the offshore installations and help increase safety at sea."
