MDU Resources Group announced that Sister Thomas Welder plans to retire from its board of directors effective April 27, and she will not stand for re-election at the company's 2010 annual meeting of stockholders.
"Sister Thomas' contributions during her remarkable 22 years as a board member have been invaluable to the successful implementation of our diversified business strategy and the growth that it has produced," said Harry J. Pearce, chairman of the board of directors. "We thank Sister Thomas for her extraordinary contributions, and for helping ensure that as our company grew we have remained true to our core value of integrity and to our commitment to shareholders, employees, customers and the communities in which we operate. We will miss her counsel and the work of a true servant leader."
Sister Thomas has been a member of the MDU Resources board since 1988. She serves as a member of the nominating and governance committee.
