Danish Energy Authority Receives New Open Door License App.

The Danish Energy Authority recently received an application for a license for exploration and production of hydrocarbons under the Open Door Procedure. The application concerns an area in Northern Zealand and another area stretching from onshore Eastern Jutland and offshore into Kattegat.

The applicants are Tethys Oil AB and Odin Energi A/S. The two companies already hold a license for another area in Northern Zealand.

The Open Door Procedure allows the oil companies to apply for licenses at any time during the yearly opening period from January 2nd until September 30th. The Open Door procedure applies to the entire onshore area, the inner Danish waters and the North Sea. However, the Central Graben and adjacent areas are not included.
