OSD Pipelines' asset services division continues to develop its international operations through a dynamic expansion strategy which now includes New Zealand.
OSD has recently established an office in New Plymouth, New Zealand and engaged experienced New Zealander, Mr Derek Coombe as Operations Manager.
"A New Zealand office presents OSD asset services with an opportunity to effectively service local client requirements. We have seen a surge in demand for specialised asset services in the local market and have developed a local presence in response to this demand," explained Asset Services General Manager Mike Lyle.
"Derek was a natural choice to lead operations in New Zealand. He has a solid history of operating pipelines and pipeline facilities, delivering project services, and providing pipeline industry training," Lyle continued.
Mr Coombe has worked for some of the leading energy organisations in NZ, and has been involved with local maintenance and operations activities in the pipeline and petrochemical industries for almost 20 years.
With support from OSD's three Australian offices, New Zealand Asset Operations will provide a range of domestic assert services, including technical audits, operations establishment services, operations support services, safety reviews, commissioning services and decommissioning services.
OSD will also provide local training services in conjunction with its Pipeline Industry Professional Education (PIPEd) division. PIPEd courses will predominantly be conducted in-house for clients, however if demand is high for public training courses, additional training services will be provided.
