Sibneft Awards Major Contract to Fugro-Jason
Fugro
Sibneft-Noyabryskneftgas OAO has awarded Fugro-Jason a multi-million dollar contract to perform an integrated field study on the Vyngayakinskoe field in Siberia. Sibneft-Noyabryskneftgas, located in Noyabrysk in Western Siberia, is the largest producing unit of Sibneft.
The objective of the study is to provide the reservoir model of the field using recently acquired 3D seismic and logs from 200 wells. Key component of the study will be Jason's 3DiQ Reservoir Characterization technology. The reservoir model will assist Sibneft to re-evaluate the remaining recoverable reserves of the field, and to plan development and appraisal wells to be drilled in existing and newly discovered reservoir zones.
National oil companies and locally based private companies around the world are increasingly assuming responsibility for exploiting domestic oil and gas assets, a trend that is rapidly transforming the market for oil and gas service companies. Having recognized the importance of this development early on, Fugro-Jason is now an active supplier to many such companies. A prime example is the above contract.
