Kerr-McGee Receives Australian Safety Award

Kerr-McGee NW Shelf Australia Energy Pty. Ltd. received the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association's (APPEA) 2000 safety award for its drilling operations in Australia. APPEA represents the oil and gas exploration and production industry in Australia. The company received the Category B Award, given to operator companies working less than 500,000 manhours per calendar year. "I'm pleased that our Australian operations have been singled out by the APPEA for outstanding safety management initiatives," said Luke R. Corbett, Kerr-McGee chairman and chief executive officer. "Safety and environmental stewardship continue to play a vital role in all of our daily worldwide operations, and I commend all of our employees for their ongoing commitment to these important areas."
