Wood Group Wins North Sea Contract from Talisman Energy

Wood Group Engineering has been awarded a five-year contract from Talisman Energy to provide engineering, construction, operations and maintenance services on all of Talisman's nine UK assets. The contract will be worth in excess of 50 million per annum and will begin November 1, 2003.

'We are delighted that Talisman has given us this responsibility at this very challenging time in the North Sea's development," said Sir Ian Wood, Chief Executive, John Wood Group PLC. "Our big investment in building and enhancing the competence and skills of our highly professional North Sea offshore teams, essential to meet the challenges, is very much in tune with Talisman policy and thinking."

Bill Edgar, chairman of the Engineering & Production Facilities division of Wood Group, said, "We believe the contract award also recognizes our in depth experience and knowledge of North Sea operations and production support. Talisman will have the full benefit of our extensive asset knowledge and technical strength drawn from both our UKCS and international operations."

Wood Group Engineering will work closely with Talisman and all other parties concerned, to ensure a safe and smooth transition period, with emphasis on health, safety and the environment.
