ENI says Pipeline Rupture Will Causes Production Delays

ENI said that the company had to shutdown some of its operations following a rupture in a pipeline that delivers crude to export terminals at Brass, southeast of the Niger Delta. The company said that loading of the crude will be rescheduled but not halted.

Eni said the oil leak is limited to a small area and an emergency team is working to fix the pipeline.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. In the past the same pipeline had been subjected to numerous acts of vandalism and sabotage. According to the evaluations made and based on the past experiences, no cancellation of the oil loads from the terminal has been planned, but just a redefinition of the loads' program.
