Yesterday, the Supervisory Board of E.ON Ruhrgas AG decided on changes to the company's Board of Management.
Armin Geiss, Chief Human Resources Officer and Labour Director, who will turn 60 next year, will leave the company at his own request and go into retirement in mid-2010. He served the E.ON Group and predecessor companies for a total of 23 years and is currently a member of the E.ON Ruhrgas Board of Management. Mr. Geiss will continue to perform Supervisory Board functions in the E.ON Group and maintain close links with the company.
Dr. Friedrich Janssen, Chief Financial Officer, will likewise leave the company at the end of June 2010 on reaching the age of 62 and go into retirement. After 30 years of service with E.ON Ruhrgas AG, 15 of them as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Janssen will join the company's Supervisory Board on 1 July 2010. He will also maintain close links with the E.ON Group by assuming further Supervisory Board functions in the Group.
Dr. Thomas König, 44, was appointed member of the E.ON Ruhrgas Board of Management and Labour Director with effect from 1 July 2010. He will take charge of Financial Affairs and Human Resources. Mr. König has been with the E.ON Group since 1995, serving inter alia as Head of Controlling and Corporate Planning at E.ON AG, Düsseldorf, from 2002 to 2005. He was CEO of E.ON Avacon AG, one of Germany's largest regional suppliers, from 2006 to 2008. Currently he is in charge of the Group's PerformtoWin efficiency program.
